Several groups totaling about 100 students and leaders headed out from the Anaheim Hilton by vans and cars on Tuesday, April 3. They weren't going to the beach or Disneyland, they were on their way to Ensenada in Mexico. The five-day trip was organized by Mennonite Brethren Missions and Services International (MBMSI). Teens will put into practice what they learned at the conference by serving Mexican churches and leading vacation Bible school programs for children.
Another group, Parkview M.B. (KS), began a week of serving in inner-city Los Angeles with the Center for Student Missions. They will learn from urban church leaders, serve the poor, work with children and talk with the homeless. They too are taking seriously the challenges presented at Anaheim 07 to love and serve as a natural outcome of a healthy Christianity!
Both groups will return home on Saturday, April 7. Please pray for their safe journeys.

Dude, Harvey is in NORTH Dakota. Always has been; probably always will be

Oops, I wasn't suggesting we move the whole church several hundred miles south! My bad. Thanks for the word, I've made the correction.
Does anyone know how the trip went???

personally, i can say the trip was awesome! (aside from one missing suitcase and sleeping bag and a sprained ankle!) the familys that we stayed with were so hospitable! they made us feel like we were home! (better, actually! my mom doesnt usually cook for 2 dozen peopel and wait until they have been served and are happy until she eats!) (im not saying that she wouldnt if she had the oppertunity, but its just that she doesnt)it was a breath of fresh air to see these people, who had so little, give so much to us! they were a true blessing and even though, essentially, we were supposed to be helping and teaching them, i think they taught us.

As a parent who had a child attend Ensenada I can tell you she was truely touched and loved every minute of being there. It was a different life for all of them and the comments I heard is that they would all go back in a minute. They loved the children and everybody else they met. Truely a great experience. My daughter hopes she gets another chance to go back there.

Wow! These are such touching and wonderful stories. Thanks to "Harvey-ite" and Mary. And what great lessons learned as well. My experience in missions has always been the same - I feel like I am the one who receives a blessing from those I have gone to minister to! Maybe that's the way it should be....
